The creative brief was to design and make a unique sculpture depicting RAF Brize Norton's global importance as a transport hub to and from operations worldwide.
Called the Gate Guardian, the sculpture is a sphere of latitude and longitude lines – representing the earth – with four of Brize Norton's key aircraft types flying out from the globe to represent the strategic global importance of the aircraft base.
Taking centre stage is the brand new Mimeo Cascade water feature. Handcrafted in copper and bronze with an aged verdigris finish, Mimeo Cascade has an elegant lattice fretwork around its rim. It is defined by the unique way water falls from the copper bowl in a gravity defying manner where the strands of water create a geometric criss-cross effect.David Harber unveiled a striking sculpture as part of the FreeForm exhibition at the RHS's first Flower Show at Chatsworth House.
Luna Mantle is made entirely of bronze and features delicate petals softly lit to emulate the glow of the moon, creating a “powerful focal point for the garden, bringing the design together beautifully” Parker explains.
We are delighted to announce that David Harber has received a Queen's Award for International Trade. The award was given in recognition of the company's outstanding growth in overseas earnings over the last three years, including an increase in its proportion of overseas sales from 22.6% to 40.3%.
Iris Torus, the Fire Chalice and the Lirio Quill — each took centre stage, in their individual space amid the stunning planting.
An oak framed pavilion anchors the garden whilst helping to subtly separate the space into smaller areas that showcase the beautiful sculptures within a traditional setting.
